Candles By Victoria

Everyone is raving about Candles by Victoria on the web.  This candle company thrives on being very richly scented with a variety of scents such as “Elvis” (banana and chocolate), Cinnabon (fresh baked cinnamon rolls), Country Bumpkin (“like fall in a jar”) and so many more!

The sheer variety of the scents is what is so amazing to me!  I am dying to try some of these candles and burn them in my very own home.  In this video the host talks about some of her candle finds and what she thinks about them.

Bath & Body Works is having a sale right now for their Slatkin & Co. candles 2 for $20.  There are a lot of great Spring and Summer scents available for purchase right now.

• Coconut Leaves – a light mellow coconut scent.
• Flower Shop – seems to be a favorite by so many people!
• Sea Spray – wonderful notes of cucumber and water.
• Pineapple Punch – a recreation of iced pineapple.
• Green Grass – smells like green daisy.  Fresh & cool.
• Sunrise Lagoon – aqua blossom.
• Bahama Fizz – spiced rum scents with fruit notes.
• Aloha Vanilla – a musky vanilla.  Not sweet, almost powdery.
• Tiki Beach – coconut, vanilla, and purple orchids.
• Jungle Kiss – coconut, sandalwood & verbena.  Reviewer states it smells like incense.

Slatkin & Co. Candle Reviews

This video features reviews of some wonderful Slatkin & Co. candles that are available for purchase at your nearest Bath & Body Works. Some are test scents and may not be available all over, but most of them are.

Here are some scents they review on this video:

• Mountain Leaves – not a favorite of the reviewer.  A bit too much like cologne; however, it sounds quite interesting to me!
• Lavender Caramel – test scent!  I’m not sure if this one went world wide or not, but it sounds quite different!  Unexpected blend of lavender, caramel and salt.  The reviewer also states there is a “hardcore sage” scent to it.  Too bizarre!
• Cranberry Cider – “forgettable” and not that interesting.  A true cranberry scent, lacking any cider notes however.
• Woodland Berry – a lot of wine and citrus notes.  A little spice, and a lot of grape notes.
• Acorn & Fig – apricot, juicy pear, fig and sandalwood.  A woodsy smell with hints of fig.
• Marshmallow Fireside – toasted marshmallows and sweet vanilla cream, with woodsy notes.  Sounds wonderful!

White Gardenia - New Spring Scent from Yankee Candle

Spring is right around the corner, and I cannot wait!  Bring on the melting of the snow, and the blooming of the flowers!  Of course with the arrival of the beautiful Spring season is the new Spring fragrances from Yankee candles!

I went on the Yankee candle site today and noticed eight new scents – Yes, EIGHT!  It is exciting and I will give you the description they have provided of the new scents:

• Beach Flowers – Like delicate keepsakes from the sea… the lovely scent of tuberose, lily and hyacinth blossoms balanced with soft watery notes.   
• Beach Wood – Season by the elements… this modern blend of vetiver, salt air and driftwood creates an intriguing fragrance.
• Coastal Waters – Clean and bracing. . . the rush of cool ocean spray from the breaking surf clears the mind and refreshes the soul.
• Meadow Showers – Daydreaming of a quiet escape. . . the naturally tranquil and airy scent of fresh raindrops on blades of green grass.
• Meyer Lemon – A bright and sunny citrus. . . perfectly ripe, with a naturally sweet and refreshing scent.
• Pink Blush – Graceful and feminine, a bouquet of soft pink blooms gently kissed with vanilla.
• True Rose – Alluring, rich and velvety. . . as fragrant as a special delivery of flawless deep red roses.
• White Gardenia – So captivating! The stunning royal beauty of lush white gardenias in full bloom.

Cherries on Snow Yankee Candles

I love Yankee candles!  They are *probably* my favorite scented candles.  Those or Trapp.  It is hard to decide and I like them at different times.

Here is a video of reviews on current Holiday & Winter Scents from this year.  Here are some of the candles she touched on and reviewed:

• Cherries on Snow – I love this one! I have purchased two so far this season, and I find them absolutely delicious.  The tester loves it as well.  She likes that it has a “true cherry scent”.  She describes it as Cherry Juicy Juice, which is so funny, because I thought the same thing.
• Black Cherry – darker, tarter, and more syrupy.  This is one of my favorites as well.
• Gingerbread – the reviewer finds this one to be the same exact scent as offered years ago; however, she notes the color of the wax has changed.  She states this is the all time best gingerbread scent she has ever smelled.
• Christmas Cookie – I love this one!  It reminds me of holiday baking.   The review loves it as well and reminds her of Christmas memories.  It smells like fresh baked cookies with buttercream icing.
• Jack Frost – I have not seen this one in stores.  She states she found it in the “Treasures” section of the store, which means limited production.  It reminds the reviewer of peppermint and vanilla with an extreme coolness.

Slatkin Mango Margarita candle

This is a great video reviewing some of Bath & Body Works candles produced by Slatkin.  I have always been curious about these candles, and trying new ones, however I rarely purchase them.  That is primarily because I never seem to catch a good sale and I refuse to pay full price for scented candles.  There is way too much competition out there to do that!

So here is a review of some of the test scents of Slatkin:

• Mango Margarita – tester states it smells juicy, zesty and rinding.  She also states it smells very good, with no notes of floral, and not too sweet.
• Pomegranate Passion – tester states she loves this one.  She states is very light, and clean.  She also states there is a light floral and reminds her of Hawaii, due to the coconut milk.
• Honeysuckle – tester thinks this is very floral and Spring like.   She states she is not a fan of the packaging, nor the candle itself.  She states it is too perfume-y and floral-like.
• Magnolia – tester likes the green glass of the jar, and loves the scent of the candle.  She states it reminds her of “Flower Shop”.

Trapp Orange Vanilla Candle

I love orange scented candles.  Or candles with touches of orange. They are comforting and usually, not too aggressive. Relaxing and I believe add to aromatherapy benefits for relaxation. Many candle companies use floral orange notes such as orange blossom; however, I prefer the fruitier notes of orange.  My favorite is Trapp Private Gardens candles in Orange/Vanilla, that is actually featured in this video. Enjoy the video it is quite educational and believe me, you’ll want some more orange in your life!

Trapp Private Gardens!

I have never found a better smelling, more-richly scented candle than the ones offered by Trapp Private Gardens Candles.  They are truly amazing.  I believe they take their motto seriously when they say “a bottle of perfume in every candle”.  After I light one of their votives (yes, even just a votive) the smells of Trapp waft through several rooms and the entire home.

After trying several kinds of Trapp Candles, here a few of my favorites:

Fresh Cut Tuberose – A tropical white flower with an intense, heady floral fragrance reminds you of a gardenia only more powerful and memorable.

Orange/Vanilla – This fragrance is the perfect combination of crisp orange notes elevated by the exquisite addition of Tahitian vanilla.

Lemongrass Verbena - Crisp citrus notes extracted from Asian lemongrass complemented by Brazilian verbena and softened with base notes of vanilla.

Guava/Mango – A fusion of exotic flavors. This mouth-watering blend of two tropical fruits combines succulent mango and flavorful guava.

Amber & Bergamot – A smooth, velvety combination of aromatic bergamot and the sultriness of amber.

Bamboo Sugar Cane – Notes captured from the heart of the sugar cane with a burst of citrus, enhanced with a touch of green bamboo.

Blackberry Vanilla – Naturally grown blackberries, freshly picked at the height of the season gently sheared with a bourbon vanilla note.

Quince & Pomegranate – NEW! Sun-ripened quince & fresh pomegranate with top notes of Asiatic Lily.

And these are just my favorites!  They offer so many more like: Macintosh, Sexy Cinnamon, Burmese Wood, Pure Peony, White Fir and Orange Clove.  They also offer Seasonal Favorites that are to die for!  If you are a candle lover, or know a real candle lover, try Trapp Private Gardens for your candle shopping needs.  I can’t say it enough but they are amazing!

Scentsy

Scentsy is the wickless candle. It features quality ingredients and they truly have a wonderful smell! I do enjoy using Scentsy; however, I find cleaning out the Scentsy warmer is a pain. Typically I’m not patient enough to for the wax to harden, so I often spill hot wax. Although I do not enjoy that, I do love the fact that there is no soot!

Aromatherapy Candles

Aromatherapy is a form of alternative medicine that is used for altering a person’s mood, mind and health.  Aromatherapy utilizes plant materials, known as essential oils, to create aromatic compounds that are good for the senses.  Many scents and oils are used to create a peaceful and calming atmosphere.

Aromatherapy candles are a big part of this!  There are candles made to enhance and create the following moods:  Serenity, Vitality, Tranquility, Relaxation and even romance.  Some popular oils used are: lavender, tea tree oil, citrus oils and peppermint to name a few.

I found this video on youtube today and enjoy how peaceful it is.  I also love that all the aromatherapy candles are so colorful!  I believe color really can create different moods and have calming effects on the body.
